Tiny/cheap router console (handheld? laptop?) whats best

I'd like a tiny router console that BOOTS INSTANTLY that has a QWERTY KEYBOARD even if it's tiny that can do 9600bps consoles. Thats about all the functionality I need... I don't need usb, wireless, web, etc, bla bla. Just a simply router console that doesn't take 5 minutes to boot that I can stick in my toolbag instead of carrying around my laptop on the road.

Anyone aware of products like this?

I have used an Ipaq Handeld with a serial cable and software called Mtoken for sessions. Works pretty good except for the small font. Know any scripts for modifying switch names quickly?

Try finding a used HP 100LX with serial cable. I've used this before. It's a miniture IBM PC (80186), boots DOS, built in serial VT100 terminal app. Runs on 2 AA batteries.

Only problem is the cable bulk because you need the Cisco terminal end, etc.
