Hi,

Since we upgraded our 160x and 172x routers to the Firewall IOS (from IP+) we are getting Spurious Memory Access on each of them randomly but at the same address:

cisco#sh alignment

Alignment data for:

C1700 Software (C1700-K9O3SY7-M), Version 12.3(12), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport

Compiled Mon 29-Nov-04 22:22 by kellythw

Total Spurious Accesses 24, Recorded 1

Address Count Traceback

Any one know about this IOS bug ?

(The 160x routers are coredumping/reloading it seems they don't support reporting of this, but 172x does report)

Thanks.

Have you had a look at the bug navigator for version 12.3(12). Ive just had a look and there seems to be loads of memory bugs for that version.

Hi,

In fact I don't have access to this tool from my account, I started downgrading to 12.15.T14 and I don't get this problem anymore.

Unfortunately I still have a problem, the "Key Proc" process is using 100% cpu every hours or so, I tried to reduce rsa key but it doesn't help...

Hi,

We have the same issue with on 1721 with the c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.123-2.XE.bin version which often reach 100% CPU for a short period of time. This happen approximatively each hour we saw that in sh proc cpu history. We schedule a sh proc cpu each minute to see which process was impacted and it looks lie it is "Key Proc".

Do you have found any solution on this issue?

Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

Christophe/
