3005 Concentrator memory

Hi

I have a 3005 Concentrator with 64MB RAM in a single slot, this leaves 1 slot free - can it be upgraded further?

I also have another 3005 with 32MB RAM, I believe the memory is PC100 SDRAM - can I use any compatible memory to upgrade this or does it have to be a Cisco specific module?

Thanks

Karl

Karl,

My understanding is, the memory for the VPN3005 is fixed. Meaning, it is either 32MB or 64MB. Please refer the below URL for details:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps5743/ps5749/ps2284/product_data_sheet09186a00801d3b56.html

So, to answer your first question.

1. The max memory on a VPN3005 is 64MB.

2. If you are planning to upgrade the memory on the VPN3005, I dont think you can have two 32MB in two slots (J24 and J25). It is only one slot you can the memory and that is either 32MB or 64MB.

And if I remember correctly, the memory upgrade kit from 32MB to 64MB for the VPN3005 is CVPN3005-MEM-KIT= VPN 3005 Concentrator 64 MB Memory Upgrade Kit.

I have enclosed couple of URLs and hope you find it useful.
