4235 locks up

One of our 4235s has locked up. I get the "Error: Cannot communicate with system processes. Please contact your system administrator." error when I try to ssh or telnet to it. This happened once before and we tried to power cycle it and couldn't get it to ever respond again. We ended up RMAing for a new one. Any suggestions?

Join the crowd, I have over 30 of them that do this at random.

The only thing that TAC could tell me was to re-image the boxes (4235s).

Could either of you please provide me with specifics about the systems you are running? In particular what version of SW and what signature release are you running?

There were a number of issues in 4.1(4) that have been addressed in subsequent patch releases. Please visit http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ids-patches

and apply the (d) patch. Let me know if after appplying this patch you continue to experience problems.

Does patch 4e also need to be applied?

How do I sign-up for email notification of patches?

Currently I only receive emails for signature updates.
