How can I manage an

ASA5500 device remotely through VPN. If I use a vpn concentrator and then vpn in, I can manage the vpn concentrator via the public address. Doesn't seem to work for asa devices

You have to allow the public interface to accept https connections.

If you mean using the vpn pool of addresses and allowing them to http to the outside, this does not seem to work.

Thank you for the help, I can use asdm but the downside, unless I misunderstand is that if I use asdm to the outside interface this is mutually exclusive to the use of webvpn. Is that your take?
