I have quite a few cisco 501s attached to a cisco 3005. the problem is that more an more frequently i am getting the following error that breakes out the client:

6366 10/02/2002 10:10:14.670 SEV=3 IPSEC/19 RPT=1051 172.23.2.48

IPSEC ESP bad pad length (8) >= buffer length (8)

can some one tell me what this means?? thanks

What is the version of VPN3005 and Cisco 501 (is it PIX 501 ??) . I tested the VPN interoperability between PIX501 v6.2(1) and VPN3005 (v3.5.5-Rel-k9) and didn`t find any connection problem.

Regards,

Engel

the version of the cisco 501 is v. 6.22 and the version of the cisco 3005 is v. 3.6.1 . The error "bad pad length" is not constant, but when i do get it, it breaks the connection between the two devices. the connection i have set up uses extended network mode and i have set up the encryption as EzVPN.
