On entire lan ... i was reading about the ASA 5500 that can block inapropriate web content but i was wondering how can provide that service. IS it a native service or a third party service from another vendor cooperating with cisco?
thanks

You need to buy a CSC module for proper 'category based' URL filtering, have a look at:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6823/
However it is not a recommended product, if you want to go for Cisco, go for Ironport.

Hi,
Basic filtering like blocking a list of domains (xyz.com)/ URL's containing specific expressions/ extensions(like .exe,.zip etc.) can be blocked using the Regular Expressions with Modular Policy Framework (MPF) on Cisco ASA.
Here is a configuration example :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a0080940c5a.shtml
But if you want content inspection /malware then opt for Websense. Hope this helps.
