Cannot set sensor IP address

Hello,

Despite the fact that I have run through the sysconfig-sensor setup and enable the ip address on the 4200 IDS sensor - I cannot get it to retain the ip address.

The ip address just comes up as 0.0.0.0

Anybody had this problem before?

Does this happen even after rebooting the sensor to save the changes?

What version is this sensor on? Maybe, it will help to reflash the ids using the recovery CD.

Tried rebooting and ensured that there was no other ip address in the network.

The only way I could for the network up was to change the address through "ifconfig" and then doing an "up" on the interface. But this was at OS level.

I rebuilt the ids and everything worked 100%

Hi,

Please make sure that the same address doesn't exist in the network. May be a ip duplication issue. A reboot may help as mentioned by the previous post. Thanks,
