CiscoWorks: Untrusted Server Certificate Chain

Hi,

We are currently managing IDS 4 and IPS 5 devices via CiscoWorks. Recently, we had a problem where we could not update or for example re-import several sensors in our CiscoWorks. The error message we get is:

===== Start:

Sensor: Re-import

Re-import Started

SensorConfigImport caught: Unable to import sensor config using RDEP: java.lang.Exception: An error occured while trying to determine the sensor version. Detail = Error occured while communicating with <ip address>:

java.security.cert.CertificateException: Untrusted Server Certificate Chain

Re-import failed for Sensor

===== End.

If we try a sig update, we also get the "java.security.cert.CertificateException: Untrusted Server Certificate Chain" error.

Any ideas where it might be going wrong? Didn't find anything regarding this error message in the forums and docs...

Kind regards.

Open your web browser and navigate to the CiscoWorks2000 Server Desktop again. As a result, you will see an "untrusted server cert chain" error in the Java console.

For information on resolving this problem, see the Release Notes for Management Center for IDS Sensors 1.0 and Monitoring Center for Security 1.0 for Windows 2000
