i have cisco 1720, i forgot the passowrd nad broke the password, but now iwhen iam trying to change it global config mode its not accepting, iam getting a error invalid out put detected error, but i know i gave the command correctly, but iam not able the change it back, please help[ me

I might be able to help you but need a little more information. What command are you typing and at which prompt? Also, what version of IOS are you running?
