Could not determine the file system type

Hi,

I have a pix 515E UR with version 7.0.1 installed. I have had a situation with it that it will not boot and brings up this error:

Total NICs found: 2

mcwa i82559 Ethernet at irq 11 MAC: 0013.7fdd.xxxx

mcwa i82559 Ethernet at irq 10 MAC: 0013.7fdd.xxxx

BIOS Flash=am29f400b @ 0xd8000

Could not determine the file system type. Data in the flash will be lost.

Initializing flashfs...

And goes into the equivalent of rommon and I can then run an image from TFTP. On subsequent reboots there is not an issue. Any suggestions.

Is this a v7 issue or is it likely to be a stuffed firewall?

Thanks

on subsequent reboots, do you have to again load the image from tftp?

Yeah, its booting fine now, both from reloads and power cycles.

I could do a show flash once login in and the flash was readable.

It was very strange

Weird. What version did you upgrade from? Perhaps the flash file system upgrade process did not take the first time

the upgrade was from 6.3.4, strange thing was that it had been rebooted and running for 2 days prior to this error occuring.

I wondered if the flash had an issue on the box. We are keeping and eye on it to see if it reoccurs.
