Whenever I'm trying to deny incoming ICMP echo on a wan port it would not carry ssh traffic any more (just drops standing connections or does not allow new ones to start). Disabling ICMP Echo should not impact it really though. Release is 12.2(11.2u)T. Any hint would be appreciated.

I agree that denying incoming ICMP echo should not have any impact on SSH. It would be helpful to have some more details about what you are doing. In particular it would be helpful if you could post what you are putting into your configuration - most especially the complete interface config and the access-list.

I think you are denying icmp echo and rest of them as it. keep in mind whenever you build access list implicit it will be deny.
so you will have to permit ssh or whatever you want after denying icmp echo.
