Dropped connections for remote telnet users.

We have a Pix 515e and have a rule that allows our midwest office to connect to a windows server via a software package that uses telent.

The single IP was added, but for some reason the remote users get booted off of the server after 5 mins. of inactivity. The Win2K server is set for 2hours of idle time before disconnect, the software program used to telnet is set for 1hour, but nothing seems to help.

any place I can look at on my end with the Pix or at the remote site?

greatly appreciate any help (we don't have a VPN setup just yet)

Your PIX log should show you when it tear's down a connection along with a reason (FIN, Reset etc).

Refer to this link if you do not have logging enabled.

I would just verify your timeout settings on the PIX aren't the problem (show timeout).
