Is it possible to set up VPN on your edge router (cisco 2600 ?)

Yes, of course. You can update to an image that support IPSEC. This will give you a relatively slow throughput, so I suggest you purchase their AIM-VPM/BP encryption acceleration card that will bring your IPSEC throughput back up to respectible levels.

I'm just wondering how it works because we are using public ip-addreses between the edge router and firewall. What will happen when the packet is decrypted on the router and has a private ip-addres as destination ? Do you just have to route it to the firewall ? Can you tell me how exactly to set up LAN-to-LAN VPN between the two edge routers (cisco 2600 & 2514) ?
