Is there a way that you can export IDS reports into a .csv file so that one can upload it into Excel for sorting?
Thanks

I don't think so.
There is no way you can extract

It depends on what you're using to look at the events / alarms, assuming that is what you mean by "IDS reports."
I know that you can export data, at least from IEV.
Just select "Export Database Tables..." under "File -> Database Administration" (see the attached screenshot).
In the resulting dialogue box, you can name the output file, select what data you want to export (for example, realtime_event_table) and the format of the exported data (CSV or TAB seperated).
Hope this helps,

For VMS, you can use idsAlarms.exe to dump an XML format file. You can then massage that any way you want.

Save the html reports to your workstation using your browsers webpage save ability.
Open the html report file in Excel. You'll be surprised at the result. It'll open and format quite well. Just a little massaging or deleting of the stuff at the top and you'll be on your way to using Excel's sort ability.
