you can Save Your Configuration in an .xml File

After you generate your configuration and make any necessary changes, you need to export the configuration in a format that CSPM can interpret. With the Configuration Import tool you can save your configuration information in an .xml file. The .xml file contains the information that CSPM needs to build your configuration.

To save an XML representation of your configuration, follow these steps:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 To specify the devices that you want to use as Managed Devices in CSPM, select the Managed check box for each device that you want to use as a Managed Device. To select all devices, click Select All at the top of the Import column.

Step 2 To save the configuration in an .xml file, click Save Config.

Result: The Save Configuration dialog box appears.

Step 3 To specify the name and location of the .xml file, navigate to the folder in which you want to save the configuration, type the name you would like to save the configuration as in the File Name field, and click Save.

Result: The Key panel appears.

Step 4 The .xml file containing the configuration to be imported into CSPM is encrypted for security reasons. Enter the key to use for encryption in the Key field. This key is required when importing the .xml file into CSPM.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note The key value is case insensitive and can contain any number of alphanumeric characters. This same key must be entered when you try to import this configuration.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Result: The configuration is saved as an .xml file to the location you specified.

Importing Your Configuration into CSPM

After you have saved your configuration in an .xml file using the Configuration Import tool, you can import that file into CSPM. Choose Configuration Import from the Tools menu in CSPM to complete this task.

To import your configuration into CSPM, follow these steps:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 To import your configuration, choose Tools > Import Configuration.

Result: The Open dialog box appears.

Step 2 To specify the .xml file that you want to import, navigate to and select the file.

Step 3 To open the selected file, click Open.

Result: The Key panel appears.

Step 4 Enter the key that was specified when the .xml file was created in the Xml decryption key field, and then click OK.

Result: The configuration loads into CSPM.
