Followed my PIX pppoe configuration under 6.3.4
ip address outside pppoe setroute
vpdn group mypppoe request dialout pppoe
vpdn group mypppoe localname xxxxx
vpdn group mypppoe ppp authentication pap
vpdn username xxxxx password ********
The pix works well but can not disconnect the pppoe dial session. Please tell me how to set the dial idle time to be 1200 seconds.
Best Regareds
And Again a Very happy New year.

It is not possible to set pppope dial idle timeout on Pix. Pix just acts as a pppoe client. The idle timeout has to be set on the pppoe server. For example on a modem like we have options ('dial-on-demand' and 'always on').
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your reply.
Now I have the "always on" configuration, and can I set dial-on-demand on PIX?

Unfortunately pix can just act as a pppoe client and hence there is no similar option of dial-on-demand on Pix. Whatever has to be configured must be on the pppoe server.

Ok, I want to the pix release the outside ip address assigned from the Service Provider by pppoe server when no traffic pass through the pix , due to the charge of internet service.
Act as a server or a client is not important here.
