IDS 4210 Upgrade to 4.0

Hello,

I have received the CD to process the upgrade of our 4210 IDS. But, in the "Upgrading IDS Appliances to Version 4.0" document, they talk about specific procedure for IDS 4235 and 4250, and for 4220-E and 4230-FE. But they did not talk about the 4210. Is there also specific procedure to upgrade the 4210.

The other units need a BIOS upgrade to be done before you upgrade the sensor. With the 4210 just pop the cd in and reboot the sensor. Make sure you have a keyboard and monitor physically connected to the device when you do this. Makes it easier. The prompts from the sensor when it comes back up will walk you through everything and it is very easy ( Are we sure Cisco is behind this?) :) Rememeber to back up your config first unless you want to do everything from scratch and as soon as you go t V4 upgrade again to V4.02 which is available off of CCO. There where some interesting bugs with V4.0. Go to V4.02 BEFORE you do any signature upgrades.
