Telnet on your IDS and issue the command 'df -k' ... it will show you the size of your file system

Hi,
The problem is that I have to plan an new IDS System and for
that reason I would like to know the HDD size.
The customer has to buy the IDS 4235 fist - so I don´t have a box right now....

Why would you like to know the HDD size ?
Sensor HDD is not relevant except if you want to log a huge amount of ip session that trigeered the alarm on the sensor.

Hi,
My customer wants to know how long he can save the LOGs that
are produced on the local IDS HDD.
I want to make an approx . guess, as I can´t know how many attacks are made.
To calculate that value I would need the HDD size.....

Markus

The hard disk in the IDS-4235 is an 18GB drive. Keep in mind that some of the disk is used for the IDS software and support files. I wouldn't count on more than 10GB to be usable for storing logs.
