IDS_DbAdminAnalyzer fail to start!!

I have VMS server version 2.2. Under Server Configuration>Connectivity Tools>Process Failures> on the right hand side I always have this error message [the IDS_DbAdminAnalyzer is fail to start].

Then I have to restart the process from Process Management > Start Process.

Any idea whey this particular (IDS_DbAdminAnalyzer) process always fails. In addition, is there is any impact on the VMS performance?

Thank you,

There is a Cisco BugTraq ID (CSCed84629) which may relate to your problem. I personally have not had issue with that process. There is one other BugTraq ID (CSCee60913) that states that: "(The) following 4 IDS MC processes do not start after Windows logoff and logon: IDS_DeployDaemon, IDS_ReportScheduler, IDS_Backup, and IDS_DbAdminAnalyzer." The workaround according to this BugTraq ID is to start the process manually (but you already know that :) ). This Bug is in a 'verified' status, so you may want to contact TAC and reference this ID, if you believe this is what you are experiencing.

As best I can tell, this process is in part responsible for the periodic pruning of the database. If this process were to not be available for an extended period of time (subject to your hard disk space), you could run out of drive space as your database would never get pruned. It appears that the IDSDbAdminAnalyzer process is only dependent upon one other process (ASANYs_SqlCoreDB). So, you may also want to verify the status of that process.

Hope that helps

I have opened a TAC Case with Cisco and they mentioned that there is work around for this Bug.

That is all
