IDS throughput load verification

I would like to know if there is a metod to verify the throughput load when it reach the limit. For example if i have a heavy traffic to monitor how can i know if the ids is going to lose packet?

Both the IDS Appliances and the IDS Module have a 993 alarm that will fire when packets are being dropped.

Set the severity of the 993 alarm to High.

NOTE: 993 was added in recent versions so you may need to upgrade if running an

older version.
