IDSDB Backup Failed

I have VMS server version 2.2, and I have set the back up job for the IDSDB every night. Unfortunately, for some reason the backup job failed many time. However, the IDSDB size is 2,134,984KB.

Any idea why it is failed???

I assume you're refering to the IDSMC database. I had the same issue. I recently contacted TAC and their solution was to perform a database compact and then attempt a backup. Before compacting run a purge of old events (if possible). I was never able to perform a backup. Final solution was to perform a VMS reinstall.

Try contacting TAC. They'll probably suggest that you send them a copy of the database for review. If you find a solution, please respond back.

I also use to have the problem. It disappeared somewhere along the road. Have you installed all of the patches and update-1?
