igmp snooping

a) Is igmp snooping enabled by deafult in 2950C series switches ?

b) Is is necessary to disable it while using these switches for the sync network between 2 checkpoint firewalls with clusterXL?

By default, IGMP is enable globally on the switch. IGMP is for IP multicast purposes. If you do not have any multicast traffic going through the network, I would recommend to disable it manually.

Command "sh ip igmp snooping" will show you whether the swicth is enabled with IGMP snooping.
