Hi,
We recently had an audit where we were asked about our software support/maintenance contracts and to verify independently that what we had ordered from the supplier was what was delivered. For software services/products in Europe, we (have to) deal with resellers. In the case of Microsoft, Check Point, Trendmicro etc. we either could login to directly to the manufacturers website or received a paper/electronic document from the manufacturer stating our entitlements. However, this was not the case with Cisco software maintenance and the reseller we deal with.
Is there anyway, given a serial number, to verify that the equipment is indeed under software maintenance (in particular, what Microsoft calls, software upgrade assurance)? A simple written yes/no answer from Cisco would suffice.
Thanks

Sure, simply call the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC):
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/support/tsd_cisco_worldwide_contacts.html#telephone
You can also try to open a case and during that process you must supply the serial number of your device. Entitlement (support) will be verified at that point.
Finally, even when going through a reseller, your end user organization is handled by a Cisco account representative who can generate a listing for you. You may need to dig a bit if you don't already have that contact. I recall the listing is known as a "Full CSD". It will list the part number and support level for all devices and software you have support coverage on.

Gather all your serial numbers and send them to license@cisco.com. Ask them which serial numbers have or do not have valid maintenance contract.
