I am receiving error messages in the java console of the client PC connected to a VMS2.2 server.

Can anyone tell me what causes them? They are occurring when configuring a sensor device via IDSMC.

E.g.

Configuration>Settings>Interfaces

Or

Configuration>Settings>Signatures

ST Applet Version: 6.0 Error calling Javascript function 'UII_sensingInterfaces_onInitialize' : netscape.javascript.JSException: Unknown name. ST Applet Version: 6.0 Error calling Javascript function 'UII_sensingInterfaces_onInitialize' : netscape.javascript.JSException: Unknown name. ST Applet Version: 6.0 Error calling Javascript function 'UII_sensingInterfaces_onInitialize' : netscape.javascript.JSException: Unknown name. ST Applet Version: 6.0 Error calling Javascript function 'UII_groupSigsTable_onInitialize' : netscape.javascript.JSException: Unknown name. ST Applet Version: 6.0 Error calling Javascript function 'UII_sigParameters_onInitialize' : netscape.javascript.JSException: Unknown name.

I use java 1.4.1

You need a patch for this. Not really sure but I think you need 16682-3 patch

VMS 2.2-update_1 installed and 1.2.3 secmon;

Have you got any pointers as to where this patch is on the Cisco site? The latest secmon is idsmdc1.2.3-win-CSCee60913.txt. And idsmdc1.2.3-win-CSCee609131.tar

Is this what you are referring too??

I did a search on the web site for the patch that you posted, and did not find it.

Check this link (a little lower than CSCee609131):

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/mgmt-ctr-ids-app

idsmdc1.2.3-win-CSCsa166823.tar

Windows patch for ddts CSCsa16682

Read the readme to see if this patch helps you with your Java problem.

How can you tell which patches are already installed? An should you only apply patches if you are experiencing a problem?

Once logged on to Cisco Works VMS, go to SERVER CONFIGURATION, then select ABOUT THE SERVER, then click on APPLICATIONS & VERSIONS... to the left pane of the window, you would see all applications and patches installed.

Hope this helps.
