I need a sanity check on when I designate a device as Cisco IOS 12.2 and when I call it Cisco Switch IOS 12.2.
Please correct me if I am wrong. Here is what I think:
For a router you would use Cisco IOS 12.2 and you would use Cisco Switch IOS 12.2 on a switch that runs IOS 12.2.
I'm just trying to get it straight in my mind for those times when I have Cat 6500 in the core and a 3750 in the closet that only does layer 2.
I believe I have been doing it correctly but would appreciate a confirmation.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds correct, that's how mine are done.
