MARS Upgrade Path With ISO Image

Is it possible to upgrade a MARS 50 box that's running 3.44 to 4.22 with an ISO image and not lose the devices that have been added to the configuration? I understand the sequential image upgrade procedure but am less sure about jumping a major revision using the much faster method of an ISO image.

I don't believe you can do an upgrade from the recovery ISO image (I'd love to know if you hear otherwise). I've used it before and didn't see any such option. It appeared to pretty much rebuild the appliance entirely.

Thanks for clarifying my thinking on the subject of using Recovery Images. I found an answer to confirm your reply on the Cisco web site:

"After re-imaging the appliance, you must once again perform initial configuration of the MARS Appliance."

This also from CCO:

"This operation destroys all data and installs a new image."

It goes on to explain about restoring any archived data. I was hoping for something simpler. No such luck.
