Moving License from v2.4 to v3.0 ISE

what will happen with old version machine if moving license from v2.4 to v3.0 ISE. is the old V2.4 VM continue working with-out license or both VMs can run with same license at same time.

You can not run both same time, but new one get grace period of 120days or so, once you move to new one contact License tream of cisco to transfer the License to new one.. (is this make sense ?)

Your ISE 2.4 is most likely using the PAK-based license type. So even when you (or Cisco Licensing team) provisions a new Smart license entitlement for the 3.0 VM, neither that provisioning nor the Smart license portal affects that existing .lic file on the 2.4 VM(s).

Technically you only have right-to-use one but both will work at the same time.
