Can the PIX be configured with an inside address that translates to a destination address? I would like clients to connect to a server that is on another network but, do it via a local IP.

To answer your question we would need to know more information. In short yes you can. You can use the [static] command. There would obviously be restrictions if your destination would be accross to public Internet and you are using private IP's. Hope this helps. This is the first time I replied to a forum.

Hi,

I believe that, you want inside clients to access the server with its (server`s) local IP , not its public IP.

If it is so then you can do this, this is called Destination NAT. Using "alias" command. But beware that, after enabling "alias" command on PIX you wont be able to use PDM for configuration, it will give you only monitoring tab. Because PDM doesn`t support comands like alias, conduit.

Here is the URL for DNAt on PIX :
