I'm interested to know in which format account passwords for IDS users/administration are saved in the console module.

Are they saved in a ciphered format?

some question on password format:

are there any characters or symbols that are not allowed to be uses as a password for the blocking device?

i have a # for the password of my blocking device(router). Looks like the IDS couldn't recognise it and did not create access list on the router.

There can be no "#" signs in the show conf output of the router. If your login password is "#" then nac will see that in the show conf output and will not work.
