PIX-4FE-66 is not working on PIX-525

Greeting every one

I have installed the PIX-4FE-66 card in the first slot of PIX-525 but it’s is not working, whenever I put the command “nameif ethernet4 perimeter1 sec50” the pix start saying unrecognized hardware.

Any comment please.

I think that you have upgrade your software version.

The product licterature explane the system requeriments:

>>> Operating system Cisco PIX Security Appliance Software versions 5.2(9), 6.0(4), 6.1(4), 6.2(2), and 6.3(1) or later

>>> Platforms Cisco PIX 515/515E, 520, 525, and 535 Security Appliance

I´m not sure, but the software 5.2(9) is earlier than

5.3(1). I try find the PIX OS Roadmap and don´t have success.

I will upgrade the OS to 6.3 tomorrow morning, let's see what's gonna happen.
