Syslogs going wild

Hi all,

I have a PIX 515E here. Since Friday, I have been getting some crazy logs. About 3000 logs by the hour. All of them are Informational. Most of these messages have the code 302013,305011, 302015, 302016, 302014. My daily logs end up being 30 mb. Any ideas on what I should check please?

Thanks alot,

Michael

if you log at the informational level, that is to be expected

To configure this, is it the "logging console level" i have to set?

thanks again....

logging console level is for what displays on the pix console itself. you should not have it set that high at all, otherwise working on the pix can be a nightmare.

logging trap level dictates what gets logged for syslog. ideally, you crank this up high, and run a reporting package or grep on it to reduce the data to managable levels - you can always do something to reduce the amount of data you have to look at, but if you need the logs and do not have em, you are toast
