When I upgraded a C2621 from 12.2.x to 12.3.6a no Microsoft Terminal Server sessions (RDP - TCP/3389) could be established through the router when the IDS feature was enabled.
It worked just fine with the 12.2 version and as soon as I disable the IDS it works with 12.3 as well.
Does anybody know if this is a bug or if there is any workaround other than disabling the IDS?

Haven't seen any specific bug on this issue, but you could check using the toolkit. Here's the link to the same.

I searched the BugTrack before posting my message.
The only thing I found was the bug: CSCed37929 - IOS IDS - Enabling audit causes HTTP sessions to fail.
This seems to be a similar problem but only references HTTP, not RDP.

you could be running into CSCee32778 - ip audit command breaks ssh/telnet connection through the router.
