Free Tier and API

So I want to test some stuff with https://github.com/duosecurity/duo_log_sync but do not want to do it in our production environment because, well, production. Can I use the Free Tier for that? Also, am I correct to assume the free tier only lasts for 30 days?

Admin API is not available in Duo Free. As a paying customer please contact Duo Support to request a way to test Admin API in a sandbox account.

So, I login into my duo admin account and created a ticket, asking for a way to, well, I just cut-n-paste your reply. Here is the reply I received in the ticket:

Thanks for reaching out to Duo support. My understanding is that you had some questions about testing out the Admin API. 

You may need to set up a trial account for this. You can find information on how to do that here: https://help.duo.com/s/article/7375

Please let me know if that makes sense or if you have any further questions.
