Hi there, I am a new Cisco server user. I bought a used C240 MS to VMs just a couple of days ago. The server boots up, and everything seems okay until I shut it down. The server literally turned off, but the PSU fans still kept spinning at high speed.
Any hints would be helpful.
Thank you.

what did you do to turn it off? it may be the processor is powered down,
but the disks/raid-controller still keeps running? (and so the PSU also)
the device has a ● Cisco Integrated Management Controller (IMC)
try to access that management page and get information about the status

Thank you for your feedback @pieterh
I turned the server off the Showdown command from the OS (Ubuntu) menu. Also tried pressing the power button until the system fans stop spinning, etc. There's no any other things keep running.
Regarding the IMC,I can not access it as no flash is available in all my computers. Tried some suggested ways but stuck with SSL certificate and all browsers refused to connect.
Any help will be appreciated.

there are multiple ways to access the CIMC including serial connection
the CIMC is also accessible on the physical KVM by pressing F8 during bootup

Thank you again @pieterh
The F8 KVM has been used but not much can be done in the available menu. I reset the password and assigned the IP address there so that I could connect via web browsers. I didn't try serial as I do not know this part.
Will do some research on serial connections. Thank you.
