about switch physical security (port security)

Why we must write this command at first when we want to enable port security
switchport mode access
I know that the default is a desirable state so what is the problem of that ?

Hello,

Port security can be configured on a access port or a trunk port, but not a dynamic port.

The reason is the switch will reject the command.

Command rejected: Fastethernet0/1 is a dynamic port.

Its not allowed on a dynamic port.
