Enabling Motion Detection on 2621V: "Video for other platform/os" error

Team,

trying to get motion detection on my CIVS 2621V enabled. Running Firmware Version: V4.4.2-2

I always get the Video for Other Platforms error not matter which browser that I am using or different systems.

Searched around and found some posts from some COTS video surveillance systems from Cisco running into the same issue but nothing here.

Are you attempting to configure the motion detection from an event setup within VSOM?  Also, which browser (and version) are you attempting to use?

Scott,

trying to setup the motion application on the camera interface itself.

I've been trying IE 11, 11 with compatibility mode

Firefox 35.0.1

Lastest Chrome 40.0.2214.94

It's likely you'll need a much older version of IE in order to set this up natively.  I believe the original user guide for the 2621 actually called for IE 6 on Windows XP.

... although I seem to recall doing this with something as recent as IE 8 without issue.

I actually have to keep a VM and an old XP workstation with VNC on it to work with some of the much older hardware :-S

IE6 =)

Let me try to find an xp cd to setup a vm with and report back.

... believe me... I know the pain that this ridiculous browser/OS compatibility madness causes :-P

Also, here are some additional tips;

Remember to add the IP/address of the camera in question to the 'Trusted Sites' list in IE.

If installation of plugins/applets and whatnot still doesn't behave as expected.  Literally try running the IE instance in the context of a local admin account. (... I feel dirty even typing that).

Best of luck!

Just as an update to this:

Managed to get the motion detection windows to work on an Win7 IE8 system without problems.

Cisco Business Unit had to update the firmware for the cameras however in order to get the delay feature to work when detecting events.
