Does port-security stay on the local device or can it effect ports on multiple devices in the same domain? I think it's only local to the switch seeing as to how it's a layer two protocol, but others I'm discussing this with say switches will do a MAC broadcast to discover if the other switches have port info that will cause a port security violation if a PC moves between VLANS on a different switch. Any clarity is greatly appreciated.

It is local to the switch. It does not span switches.

Thanks Philip! That's what I figured. Is there any documentation you know of that will break that down for me? Everything I search for only references the protocol, but not the use theory?
