2 RV130w's, one as Router and one as AP - Clients cannot access internet

So I have a rv130w router with wireless that has been working great.  The Church that I installed this in decided they needed another access point for further coverage.  We bought another rv130w as we could use it if the primary router ever failed as a replacement and the range on these are really good.

So after 5 hours of wireless issues and trying to troubleshoot I find this router has the same problem as the 180w.  It doesn't like other AP's.  Both routers have the latest firmware and the one is in AP mode.

The firmware release notes say this... (Which seem to be the problem) under problems carried over from the previous firmware.

"Problem: Wireless clients may not be able to access the Internet when roaming

between the device and another access point on the LAN side. (CSCum42666)

Solution: Enable WAN QoS or STP on LAN ports."

I am also willing to try beta firmware also if I can get a link.

How would spanning tree help as there is a non managed switch between these 2 devices and what settings in QOS or rstp needs set? This router does rapid spanning tree, not the older.  Does it need to be on on the router only or the router also that's an AP?

I really need to get this going so if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

I dont understand why you use RV130W as accesspoint.    I use cheaper 300Mbps 3T3R router as AP.

That AP I am using cost only 20% of an RV130W.

I set the cheap AP to the same subnet, turn off DHCP, wire its LAN to main router LAN.  Wireless client to AP rely on DHCP of main router.     I also add a static-route on the AP for the gateway address.

the rv130w has greater range than lower const access points and can be used as a direct.replacement if something happened to there mail router. I would just.have to upload a config. Sadly it won't work but Cisco posted a possible workaround, I just need more explanation.

After the latest firmware it now works correctly.  Connect your lan to the wan port and no other devices to it.  It allowed me to use it as an access point.

Larry123, were you able to get any more information on this?

I have the same issue and can't find any instructions on setting up 2 RV130W's with one as a bridge

Had 2 RV120W's setup that way for 2 years and they worked like a charm, but can't find the instructions that were on the Cisco web site now for that configuration either

I am on the phone with Cisco and they are not much help so far

Firmware is still 10.0.1.3

Thanks
