Cisco RV042 with two subnets for a web server

Hi guys,

I have the following problem. I have a static DSL  connection and my ISP is giving me 4 static IP's. I have connected my  RV042 to the DSL modem and I have now 1 subnet at 192.168.0.0. What I  want to create is a WEB server/ Email server, but to sit on a different  subnet - 192.168.5.0. For now I have connected the server to the DMZ  port, but I am unable to to access it from WAN, only from LAN. Please  advice as to how to configure properly the 2 subnets (192.168.0.0 and  192.168.5.0) and how to forward my static address to the server which I  which to be on the 192.168.5.0.

Hi Evgueni,

Thank you for posting. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to Setup-> Network and check the box to enable Multiple Subnet. Click on Add/Edit. Add the second subnet 192.168.5.0 and Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0.
   
2. Give the Web Server a static IP address in the 192.168.5.0 subnet. (i.e. 192.168.5.200)
   
3. Go to Setup-> One-to-One NAT and check "Enable". Enter the WAN IP address (Usually the second IP in the range that the ISP gave, the first one should be the WAN IP of the router) and LAN IP address to translate to. In my example the LAN IP would be 192.168.5.200. The Range will be 1 because you are only translating a single address.
   

Save Settings and you should be able to reach the Web Server using the WAN IP that you configured in the One-to-One NAT setting. Please reply and tell us if this works for you or if you need additional assistance.

I did the same thing over and over again, but to no avail. I'll check again and let you know of the outcome

OK, I did it again an still nothing. Here's how I did it:

On LAN1 I have 192.168.0.0

On LAN2 I have 192.168.5.0

I went into Setup->Network and when I tried to add a subnet it does not allow me to put 192.168.5.0 (only 1-254)

I did 192.168.5.1 and saved,

After I went to One-To-One, enabled and the only option for local IP is in the 192.168.0.0 subnet. When I try to write 192.168.5.0 it doesn't let me do it.

As I said, I did everything that you advised, but the option for the One-To-One is still only for 0.0 subnet.

Should I be using DMZ or LAN2?

Sorry about my last response, I was thinking that you could use One-to-One NAT to map the external IP to the second subnet. Apparently you can only map the external IP to the default subnet. Any chance you could change the default subnet to 192.168.5.0 and then add 192.168.0.0? This way you could still use One-to-One NAT and have the same two subnets configured on the router.
