Hello,
At the customer site we've implemented a Cisco RV130 router. The customer uses a solution that communicates over a specific port (5678). The solution uses the SOAP protocol which sends a request from the suplier to the customer site (WAN to LAN). It sends these requests every two seconds.
To provide the solution above we've enabled port forwarding on the router. Port 5678 will be forwarded to IP 192.168.1.200 (the IP address of the solution internal). Of course the supplier connects to the WAN IP address over port 5678. To enable access on the firewall, an access rule is created for port 5678 on the router. When communication is blocked externally, port 5678 keeps listening on the internal LAN.
The solution works temporarily. At a given time the port forwarding doesn't work anymore. Only solution to solve the problem is to reset the router. We have to do this multiple times a day. Port 80 keeps working. When the communication over port 5678 is blocked, it is still possible to use internet on the internal LAN and to use solutions like Teamviewer to take control over PC's on the LAN.
We also implemnted remote management of the router. This works great, but when the communication is blocked (as described above) it isn't possible to use remote management of the router. After resetting the router remote management is possible again. We also tried to apply the latest firmware (1.0.2.7).
Thank you in advance for the help.
King regards,
Dave
