Hi

Im having a problem configuring my RV042 dual VPN router,

I have two internet service providers one is ADSL and the other one is a 4Mb fiber optic connection

The ADSL connection has two seperate static IP address in it while the fiber connection only has one static address

now how can I use my VPN router to do load balancing and automatic failover between the two internet service providers

so that when one goes down it can switch to the other provider .

I tried to configure it to do this but it didn't work can anyone help.

Godfrey.

Hi Godfrey,

Thank you for posting. First go to Setup ->Network and configure your static IP addresses for WAN1 and WAN2. Then go to System Management -> Dual-WAN and select Load Balance. It is a good idea to use Protocol Binding at the bottom of that page for HTTPS. Many secure sites will block traffic that appears to come from two different IP addresses. Please let us know if you need further assistance or if this answers your question.

hi

thanks for the reply i have done what you told me to do and so the internet works with the fiber connection through the router

but the ADSL connection does not work ,this is where my problem lies.

the ADSL connection is a bridged connection but I cannot see a default gateway or an IP address to put in the router config

is there another way to do this ?

thanks

godfrey
