I have 2 E1000 at home (1 as a backup). Two weeks ago I had a few people at home and they all had iPhones/iPad's and they connected to my wireless network. After that day I started to experience a lot of connectivity problems and I called the cable company. The cable company came in and diagnosed the router as the problem. I, then, picked up the backup router, configured and promoted as the main one in my network. One thing I noticed this time was that I had to configure the WEP2 encryption in order to get faster speeds. After I made this config change, my connection started to behave like a hell.... the signal went down and the speed was HORRIBLE. The connection speed though, was higher (over 56 mbps) but the traffic was very slow. I downgraded now to WPA and everything is back to normal, but I am again at 56 mbps.
I want to know, why I am getting this issue? Before you ask, yes, I have updated the firmware.
