Hello there, this is not just a vent, i would like to find some answers..so

1) Why RVS4000 is called a "Cisco" small business router when it does NOT run IOS? Why isn't it called a "Linksys" router? People may get confused, you know..

2) Why there is no ssh management?

3) Why the "full featured"** telnet management is hidden from the web panel (menus) and you have to google to find it?

3) Is there any security improvement, always speaking about telnet, with the last 2.0.2.7 firmware version?

Hope someone can clarify these points to me.

Cheers

Hello Simone - Thanks for participating in the Community. Hope I can answer your questions.

The RVS4000, as well as the entire line of RV Series Routers, are purpose built for Small Business. They are

known for ease-of-use with the Web GUI support for device administration. For this reason, command line interface (CLI) is not a requirement

Limited telnet interface is included in the RVS4000 for supporting field issues. It’s not intended for general use by customers.

The Release Notes for RVS4000 Firmware Version 2.0.2.7 describe the changes and known issues addressed.

Thanks again for taking the time to ask questons. We appreciate your input.
