Router is a WRVS4400N VPN router

I wish to configure client software for VPN access to the network.

1. Does Cisco offer this software?

2. Are there open source or freeware options?

3. Is there a comprehensive guide to configuring the WRVS4400N router with VPN software?

Thank you.

Here is one from a third-party.

WRVS4400N comes with QuickVPN client, which is included on the product CD.

We used a WRVS4400N v2 for 1+ years before we changed over to an SA540.

For your Mac devices (running Snow Leopard, Lion, etc), I recommend IPSecuritas.

For your Windows devices, I recommend either QuickVPN (which we didn't have any troubles with) or Shrew Soft VPN Client (which others on the forums have used with great success).  Green Bow works, but I don't believe it's free.  I could be wrong.

I do not believe you have any options for your smart phones or tablets.  We used an RV220W for a couple of months before changing over to the SA540 and its PPP VPN Server functionality worked great with smart phones and tablets.  It was limited to 9 PPP users so it didn't fit our needs.

The WVRS4400N v2 proved to be a stable device until we out grew it.

I hope this helps.  Do some more searching and you'll find some posts, and some times documents, that outline how to setup your WRVS4400N using the mentioned VPN clients.

Thank you both.

I spent some fruitless time searching for online download of the QuickVPN client, stumbling first across several Cisco links that asked me to purchase a support contract before allowing me to download the client. For others in this situation who cannot locate their Router CD (I have since found mine), the latest QuickVPN client software can be downloaded from here:
