Q. Beta Firmware 2.0.0.7-K9 WRVS4400Nv2

Anyone have any information on what exactly this fixes?

I know one that it fixes a bug when you disable IPS and have CUSTOM port mappings through the firewall (i.e.: NOT common / regular ports – but random ports like 16000 mapped to port 80 or something) – then the firewall would block it even if you had the port open.  When you turned IPS back on – it would open the port again.

Can the Beta 2.x firmware be downloaded & if so - where?

The SBSC number is 866-606-1866.

I have read not so favorable reviews regarding this router & it seems as if Linksys/Cisco isn't putting a priority on this router.  Is v1.00.09 the latest firmware?  If not, where can I obtain a later release?  I have also seen many online discussions that the 2.x beta has been dragging on for months.  Any idea when an update will be released?

There is no eta on the newer firmware for the version 2, they are still in testing mode with it.   The version 1.00.09 is the latest version of firmware for the wrvs4400n version 2 router.

If I told you the end of August and then we didnt meet that date, I would be setting bad expectations and setting up for disappointment, so I wont ;-)

The transition into Cisco Small Business (these former Connected Office Business Organization of Linksys products) has caused more of a backlog / log jam in the process which we hope to have worked out very very soon.   The FW is actually tied up in 'legal' at the moment, which is indeed frustrating to us technical folk.

I apologize for the delay, truly.

Hopefully “legal” means something is going to be done with this model to make it more useable in a commercial environment.

I thought I was the only one which had issues but after reading:

http://cnet.nytimes.com/routers/linksys-wrvs4400n-wireless-n/4852-3319_7-32011916.html

I am not alone. You finally fixed the v1 issues with the latest firmware and the discontinued the product – then went to the v2 which has if not as many problems as the v1 did when it first came out.

Come on its not that hard, you’ve been in business how long?

Due to legal issues, we have removed the link to the download.  Once we receive approved f/w we will post it for you.

Thank you for your understanding.

The actual next FW for this router will actually be 2.0.0.8.

I am not a legal person  but should state that we haven't officially approved of this FW and therefore advise you download at own risk.

Does anyone know if there is a release (possibly beta) of VPN V1.2.11?

Does anyone know what fixes that the Beta Firmware 2.0.0.7-K9 WRVS4400Nv2  is having. Does it having all the features like website blocking and keyword blocking in the Internet Policy Settings without intetration of Trend Micro Protect Link ?

I sure hope this beta firmware isn't the "FINAL" version.  I am having major difficulties with site-to-site vpn's.  Not sure what is wrong but the site-to-site vpn closes any time I try to startup Microsoft Outlook 2007 on a "wireless" connection.  I have to "Disconnect" & "Reconnect" to bring the tunnel back up.  I have tried everything under the sun but nothing has resolved it so far.

Also, I have not been able to connect to this router with the Linksys VPN Client on a 64bit OS but I can connect with 32bit OS.

Anyone having any of these difficulties?  This is getting very frustrating...

In response to:

No, It is not final or official (as mentioned earlier in this thread).

Look for 2.0.0.8 soon.

I know currently they don't have a fix for the qvpn and 64 bit vista at the moment.

So I recently got this device and I'm in the same boat as everyone by experiencing issues with the device but even if there is no firmware yet or it is going to be soon released there is no information on what is getting fixed or not.  I don't get it how this device still in the market without the support to make it more stable.

I already had a ticket open with SBSC but they just didn't help me besides telling me to change the frequency of the channels and thats it.
