Question about the RV130W compared to the RV110 & RV215W

Hey,

I was deciding between the following routers; the RV130W ($220~), RV215W ($140~), & RV110W ($110~)

During my support call the agent referred to the RV130W as Gigabit, being the fastest and best according to him. He also told me the RV215W & RV110W are Fast Ethernet. My questions are, what's the difference between Gigabit and Fast Ethernet? Is it worth paying the extra $80-$110!~ for the RV130W and why.

Edit: My office building has a few different rooms with walls in-between, we have at most 10 people connected at a time and the furthest it would have to go is about 50ft.

Thank you,

Matthew

Hello,

Gig speed is 1000 mbps ( megabits per second ) and Fast Ethernet is 100 mbps.

Thus, Gig is 10 times faster.  Yes, the faster speed is recommended for performance.

The RV130W will give you better performance on every level.

 - Better throughput on the internet connection

 - Better speed on the internal network

 - Stronger Antenna with a 2 dBi gain verses 1.8 on the 110w and the 215W

 - More advanced features with more VPN options

Below are the link to the Datasheets:
