RV042 - cannot upgrade firmware

I have a RV042 router with firmware version 1.3.12.6-tm

When I download the latest firmware and I try to upgrade the firmware through the management tool (System Management->Firmware Upgrade) I see a blank screen

I wait for 15 minutes

I reconnect

I still have the same od firmware

Is there a special trick to do a firmware upgrade ?

Hi Johan,

Thank you for posting your questions. The latest firmware version 4.0.0.7 is for the new hardware version 3.0 only. Please download and install version 1.3.12.19 for your RV042.

Regarding clients connecting without the certificate, are you referring to QuickVPN clients? If so, clients will always be able to connect without the certificate. Downloading the certificate to the client PC is for the benefit of the client only. It is designed to provide a warning message to the end user if they attempt to connect to the wrong router. If they have placed the certificate in the QuickVPN Program Files folder and connect to the right router the warning should not appear.

I talk to myself a bit

I used Firefox at first and that didn't work.

So I did a fresh download with IE and tried to update the firmware with IE.

That cambe back with a message saying that website doesn't exist.

I tried Chrome in there I could see it upload the .com file to 100%

Immediately followed by an error (see attachment).

I was somehow hoping that a firmware upgrade would fix the problem where clients can log in without a certificate.

One week of trying and trying.

(btw, I am 57 years old and I have worked in IT (pure technical) since 1973).
