I have an RV042 which is giving out DHCP leases with an expiration of 5 minutes no matter what I set it for. It is running FW 1.3.12.19-tm. I actually have several of these units in stock and they all are experiencing the same issue. The FW version is the most current and I have even tried an earlier version on one of the units with the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

Mr. Kelleher,
Do you have the packet captures from the router showing the dhcp renewal's going out every five minutes?

No. I'm basing this on the response I obtain when I enter 'ipconfig /all' from the command line with a laptop running Windows XP.

Mr. Kelleher,
Typically the routers wan port does not give you the option to adjust how often it will obtain its ip address.
Have you checked the modem's timer on the lan side to see what it is set to?

I am using the RV042 as a DHCP server to give out addresses on the LAN side. No matter what value I set the DHCP lease time to, 5 to 43,200 minutes as specified in the units help menu, the lease time that the client get's is always 5 minutes. This occurs with firmware 1.3.12.19-tm (the latest) and 1.3.12.6-tm.
Thanks,
Jim

It turns out that if there is no link on the WAN port, the DHCP server in the router only gives out 5 minute leases. As soon as you put the router in service with an active connection to the WAN port, the router gives out the correct lease time.

I had my srp547w giving dhcp leases for my lan for only 1 minute regardless of my settings on the router.
Turns out I had another wireless router on the network that had been reset and defaulted to becoming a dhcp server as well. As soon as I found that and turned it's dhcp off, all started to behave normally.
