RV042 Gateway to Gateway tunnels not reconnecting

I have two Cisco RV042 Routers, they are being used to connect two offices, i have created a standard gateway to gateway connection, fixed public ip addresses on both sides and everything works fine, except when the tunnel gets disconnected, it does not connect back automatically, i have to log into either  router console and click the connect button to get the tunnel working again, this is really annoying since it happens once or twice a day at least.

I would think the router should do this automatically, reconnecting whenever what was wrong gets fixed. i.e. internet connetion is back up

Do you have DPD and Keep Alive enabled on both ends of the tunnel?

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question, i cannot believe i had left out the keep alive parameter.

For sure thats  whats wrong in my configuration. That should solve the problem, such a rookie mistake.
